The lifespan of an air suspension system is 3-5 years. Under good road conditions and normal use, it only needs to be replaced every 5 years. If the car is frequently parked and not used, or on roads with poor conditions, it needs to be replaced every 3 years. Air suspension works by using road conditions and signals from distance sensors. The vehicle's computer determines changes in vehicle height and then controls the air compressor and exhaust valves to automatically compress or extend the springs, thereby lowering or raising the chassis ground clearance to increase high-speed stability or improve passability on complex road conditions.

 

Advantages of installing air suspension:

1. Lightweight.

One of the biggest advantages of air suspension is its light weight. It is significantly lighter than traditional leaf spring suspension, which is a major reason why ordinary users are interested in it. Under the current weight-based toll system, the lightweight advantage of air suspension is obvious.

2. Height Adjustment.

Height adjustment is reflected in two aspects: First, air suspension can raise the axle, which helps reduce tire wear and saves fuel, especially suitable for working conditions where one side is unsupported. Second, air suspension can lower the height of the vehicle's cargo platform to a certain extent, making loading and unloading easier.

3. Smoother Driving Experience

Compared to lightweight design, the smoother driving experience of vehicles using air suspension is a more significant advantage. The spring rate of the air spring, or its stiffness, can automatically adjust as needed. At high speeds, the air springs stiffen to improve vehicle stability, while on rougher roads, they soften to enhance comfort.

 

Disadvantages of Installing Air Suspension:

1. High Price

An imported air suspension system currently costs anywhere from 70,000 to 80,000 RMB to over 100,000 RMB. Domestically produced air suspension systems are relatively cheaper, but their reliability needs further improvement.

2. Strict Load Capacity Requirements

Vehicles with air suspension have strict load capacity requirements. Overloading is extremely dangerous and can severely damage the air suspension system, reducing its lifespan.
